Featured Floral Designer
Brenna Quan's foundation as an artist began with a professional career in dance, as a performer and choreographer. The study of lines and movement, along with the freedom to express emotion seemed to allow for a natural transition into the art of floral design.
After extensive experience in retail and wholesale floristry, including wedding and event design, her journey began taking a shift towards the exploration of floral art and its culture. In the last few years, she has received multiple awards in local and international floral design competitions. These experiences have facilitated outlets for a profusion of personal growth as an artist. Feeding her continuous thirst for education is her attendance to demonstrations and workshops, volunteering behind the scenes whenever possible, to learn from master florists from around the world.
Brenna has been a proud member of the American Institute of Floral Designers since 2009. This year, she is serving as a director on the board for the Northwest Chapter of the organization. While raising her two young children, she currently freelances in her hometown area of Vancouver, B.C. and jumps on any opportunity to share her passion through social media, local exhibits and demonstrations.
“It has been an absolute pleasure to be a selected participant amongst my respected peers and also an honor to be given recognition by the esteemed jury each year in the Ninth Moon Design Showcase at the beautiful Lan Su Chinese Garden.” She is extremely thrilled to bring her whimsical style and creativity to the showcase this year as the event’s featured designer!
The Ninth Moon Floral Design Showcase, is Lan Su’s first floral design exhibition created in partnership with the Floral Design Institute. Ninth Moon is presented in conjunction with Mumvember, an annual celebration of the chrysanthemum.
The Ninth Moon Floral Design Showcase is a juried floral show with each entry including chrysanthemums as a part of the display. Designers will use floral design styles and forms that utilize fresh floral materials and foliage in their entry. The exhibition is designed to celebrate the beauty and significance of chrysanthemums and recognize the floral art and creative talent of floral designers in the Pacific Northwest.
