In these specially designed gardens, horticulture is therapy through choices, social support, exercise and the nature experience through four seasons.
Teresia Hazen, M.Ed., HTR, QMPH is the Coordinator of Therapeutic Gardens and Horticultural Therapy for Legacy Health in the Portland Metro Area. She has helped develop ten therapeutic gardens in Legacy clinical programs, three of which have received awards from the American Horticultural Therapy Association.
