Chinese New Year Lantern Viewing at Lan Su Chinese Garden

Chinese New Year Lantern Viewing

Traditional lantern viewings close out Chinese New Year festivities on the evenings of February 19, 20, 21, and 22, when the garden glows with hanging red lanterns illuminating sweeping roof lines and the lake reflects the light of large illuminated lantern sculptures including a 20 ft dragon! A dragon procession led by the Portland Lee's Association Dragon & Lion Dance Team, performances by local community partners, including the Portland Chinese Dance Troupe and choreographer Victoria Chen, are all a part of these special evenings.

Members receive a discount on Lantern Viewing tickets and other special events throughout the year; become a member now.

Donors at the $250 level and above are invited to a special Donor Lantern Viewing Evening. Look for your invitation in the mail! Special thanks to Food in Bloom Catering for generously donating nibbles and drinks for this evening.
