Looking to host and intimate dinner for 50 or a reception for up to 300 guests? The garden is the enchanting location for celebrations large or small. Lan Su’s catering partner is able to provide you with delectable food and beverage, plus arrange for all of your equipment needs. 

The garden and Teahouse can be rented before or after regular public hours. Within walking distance from all downtown hotels and a five-minute MAX train ride from the Oregon Convention Center, the garden is the easy venue for your next private event.

An Authentic Chinese Teahouse

This heated, two-story pavilion is available year round and can accommodate up to 50 guests. Furnished with authentic, artisan Chinese furniture and hanging lanterns it has unsurpassed views of Lake Zither and the garden. This not-to-be-found-anywhere-else venue offers you and your guests a spectacular event experience.

Planning Your Private Event

VT Group manages event rentals at Lan Su Chinese Garden.Their knowledgeable staff will assist you with all your event needs, including booking, site tours, catering, and equipment rentals.

VT Group catering partners are the exclusive providers of food and beverage at Lan Su. For events, your catering options include Food in Bloom Catering and Vibrant Table Catering & Events.

Catered Event Rental Rates

Garden venue fee allows use of the garden for up to four hours from 7 p.m. - 11 p.m. We do not offer private event rentals or photo shoots during the garden’s public hours. The garden is open from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. in winter (November 1 - March 14) and 10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. in summer (March 15 - October 31).

  • Peak Season: June - September
  • Off Season: October - May (50% off peak season rates)

Saturday — $10,000 (off season: $5,000)

Friday & Sunday — $7,500 (off season: $3,750)

Monday - Thursday — $5,000 (off season: $2,500)

Add the Teahouse for an additional: $2,000 (off season: $1,000)

Ceremony Only Rental Rates

You can rent the garden before we open or after we close for a ceremony only. The ceremony only rentals are intended for small (less than fifty guests) standing room ceremonies and do not allow any food or beverage. Ceremony only venue fees allow the use of the garden for up to two hours before we open or after we close. The garden is open from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. in winter (November 1 - March 14) and 10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. in summer (March 15 - October 31). Saturdays are not available for a morning or evening ceremony only rental. 

  • Peak Season: June - September

Friday & Sunday, Morning — $ 1,500 (off season: $ 750)

Monday – Thursday, Morning — $ 1,000 (off season: $ 500)

Friday & Sunday, After-Hours — $ 2,500 (off season: $ 1,250)
