Reciprocal Membership with the Portland Japanese Garden

In November, Lan Su Chinese Garden has partnered with the Portland Japanese Garden to offer reciprocal membership.

Lan Su members are invited to stroll the 5.5-acre garden paths at the Japanese Garden and see five different styles of Japanese garden, each with its own special character and features. Witness the beautiful autumn colors and experience the Garden as it transitions from fall to winter. End your visit on the overlook with the most spectacular “borrowed scenery” view of the city of Portland and Mt. Hood.

Reciprocal memberships include:

  • Each Lan Su Chinese Garden Membership is good for two free admissions
  • 10% discount in the Japanese Garden Gift Store
  • Entry into the Mottainai: The Fabric of Life Exhibit

Early Entry to Spring Plant Sale

Did you know that as a member of Lan Su, you get early entry to Lan Su’s Annual Spring Plant Sale?

Typically held in March, the sale features local vendors of rare, hard to find or simply gorgeous plants and garden related items all in one place. Members of Lan Su get first pick of the plants with entry an hour ahead of the general public. Date and times of the Spring Plant Sale are usually posted on the garden’s website after the first of the year.

First Thursdays at Lan Su

Silk Embroidery Art on Display and SaleFirst Thursdays of each month through 2011
6:00-8:00 p.m.

Each First Thursday though the end of 2011, Lan Su will be open for free from 6-8 p.m.

An opportunity to experience Lan Su at dusk, each First Thursday will give members a chance to introduce the garden to friends and family as well as see a rotating series of artist’s works.  This month, as part of Scholars Arts, features the artwork from students of Wisdom Arts Academy.

On each First Thursday, members can show their membership card to receive a beverage of their choice to thank them for their support of Lan Su.

Lan Su Chinese Garden partners with various organizations to offer special on admissions or reduced prices.  When available the Garden will promote these offers here.  Keep a lookout for upcoming specials.
