Great Eight Free Days at Lan Su Chinese Garden

Monday, January 2 - Monday, January 9
10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. daily

To kick off 2012 and a year full of events, Lan Su Chinese Garden will open Monday, January 2, through Monday, January 9, with no cost for admission (general admission is
regularly $9.50). The garden shop expands into a garden pavilion to offer a dazzling display of Chinese New Year items in preparation for the beginning of the Year of the
Dragon on January 23. Learn more about the Year of the Dragon Chinese New Year Celebration.

Visitors can also escape the cold with tea in the cozy teahouse, which keeps garden hours and does not require reservations.





Chinese New Year

Year of the Dragon
January 23-February 6, 2012

This annual event for families and kids of all ages includes lion and dragon dances each weekend day, martial arts demonstrations, feng shui talks, dance and music performances, plant talks and much more.

The two-week celebration of Chinese culture and history kicks off on January 23, 2012 with a “Rolling in the Wealth” feng shui activity and concludes with two nights of a specially ticketed, traditional lantern viewings on February 5 & 6.





The Chinese Zodiac

February 7 - April 30

Discover the twelve animals of the Chinese zodiac—Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Sheep, Monkey, Rooster, Dog and Pig—and their history and influence in Chinese culture.

During the celebration of The Chinese Zodiac at Lan Su, you will have the opportunity to make your own zodiac animal stamped art, explore the garden with a Zodiac Animals Discovery Guide, learn about feng shui and the Chinese zodiac and listen to talks fro both the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine and the National College of Natural Medicine.





Annual Spring Plant Sale

Find plants unavailable at typical plant outlets and learn about their specific care and needs directly from the growers at Lan Su’s Annual Spring Plant Sale.

Explore more than 20 stalls filled to the brim with unique and unusual plants with an emphasis on plants of Chinese origin. A portion of each sale benefits Lan Su Chinese Garden.

Sale located in the parking lot at NW 3rd Avenue & Flanders (adjacent to Lan Su).
